Statistically, in any group of thirty people or more, two will have the same birthday. Therefore it’s not surprising she shares a birthday with one of her teammates in the Avengers. Mark Ruffalo was born on the same date, years earlier, hundreds of miles away from her, in the charming lakefront town of Kenosha, WI. A very happy birthday to Mark and Scarlett!

Normally, you wouldn’t expect a Russian spy and assassin to become one of the most popular members of an American superhero team. But Scarlett Johansson has played SHIELD agent and former Russian spy Natasha Romanoff in the MCU since 2010 in Iron Man 2. She reprised the role in all the Avengers movies and eventually in her own film, Black Widow (2021).

Busy Lady

Although she is not yet forty, Scarlett Johansson has managed to find time for numerous accolades and scandals. In a career consisting of only 75 credited roles (so far), she already has 236 nominations for various awards and 70 wins. That’s a pretty impressive ratio. She had two separate Oscar nominations in 2020, one for Best Actress in Marriage Story and one for Best Supporting Actress in JoJo Rabbit. She received the AMERICAN Cinematheque Award in 2021.

She got involved in a lawsuit with Disney over the release of Black Widow going straight to streaming, thus cutting her out of millions of dollars of box office that she asserts she would otherwise have been paid. The decision to release the film on Disney+ simultaneously with the theatrical release was made on Bob Chapek’s watch, and is one of the sore spots of his very short, temultuous term as CEO of the Walt Disney Company. Johansson was also caught up in a controversy for accepting the role of Major Motoko in Ghost in the Shell, a part that the vast majority of fans believe should have gone to an Asian actor.

Scarlett Johansson has been married three times and divorced twice. She was married to actor Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool)from 2008 to 2011. She was married to CFrench businessman Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017. She is currently s married to actor/comedian Colin Jost. They have been together since 2020. She and her second husband share a daughter, Rose Dauriac, She and Colin Jost have a son together, Cosmo Jost. In 2011, nude photos of her were hacked from her ex-husband’s phone and leaked online, and she sued a French publisher over libel.
