New York, NY (May 16, 2021) – The 2021 “MTV Movie & TV Awards” aired LIVE from the Palladium in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 16. Comedienne and actress Leslie Jones hosted the show, which kicked off MTV’s epic two-night event celebrating the biggest and best moments in film and television.

Marvel Studios swept the awards, winning six of the thirteen awards with four awards for Wandavision and the performances by Elizabeth Olson and Kathryn Hahn, and two more awards for Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Two additional awards were one posthumous award for Best Performance in a Movie for Chadwick Boseman in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and a Generation Award for Scarlett Johanson (known for their iconic roles as Black Panther and Black Widow / Natasha Romanoff respectively).

The two-night event will continue tonight when the inaugural “MTV Movie & TV Awards: UNSCRIPTED,” a first-of-its-kind celebration of all things reality television airs from the Palladium in Los Angeles at 9PM ET/PT. Hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, the show will celebrate the best jaw-dropping, no-rules, drama-filled moments from our favorite reality shows.
