Tom Hiddleston, best known for playing Loki in the MCU, celebrates his 44th birthday on Sunday, February 9, 2025. The English actor is generally acknowledged as the most eligible bachelor in Europe, handsome, intelligent, courteous. He earned a double first in classics at thhe university of Cambridge, then studied his chosen craft at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). He was born 9 February 1981, in London, England, UK.

Hiddleston began appearing on television when he was still a student at RADA. His first film role was as Oakley in Unrelated (2006). In 2007, he earned the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Newcomer in a Play for his performance in Shakespeare’s Cymbeline.

Since then, he’s gone on to play Captain Nichols in the World War I drama War Horse (2011), directed by Stephen Spielberg. Hiddleston starred as Henry V in the Iron Crown in 2012. In 2022, he was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Actor in a Streaming Series for starring in Loki on Disney Plus. Other fantasy work included playing Ransome in the TV mini-series The Essex Serpent. He reunited with the MCU’s Samuel L. Jackson, when he played SAS veteran James Conrad in Kong: Skull Island (2017).

His horror films include Crimson Peak (2015) and the title role in The Life of Chuck (2024).

Nor can we forget that moment in 2016 when his derriere broke the Internet and his rear end got its own hashtag #Hiddlesbum after a partially unclothed scene in The Night Manager. We respect Tom Hiddleston as an actor and a person too much to reduce him to a sex object with a peachy rear end.

Forty-four is nothing for an actor, especially an English actor. Look at Sir Patrick Stewart, still going strong at 84, or Dame Maggie Smith, who continued acting until the age of 89. There is no reason not to expect that Tom Hiddleston won’t be acting and earning awards four decades from now. Indeed, he may even be Sir Thomas by then.

Happy Birthday, Tom Hiddleston. We hope you spend the day with friends and family, and chocolate, lots of chocolate. We look forward to watching you in future roles, be they Shakespeare, Marvel, or Hemingway. Bonne chance to you, Tom!
