In Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Chris Pine heads a cast of adventuring misfit thieves trying to set things right so that the world doesn’t end.

A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.

That’s what they posted with the video on the Paramount Pictures channel on YouTube. The film looks well produced, and certainly a better effort than the original Dungeons & Dragons movie they released in 2000 to capitalize on the popularity of the game, currently monetized and curated by Wizards of the Coast.

The film is the subject of at least some fan backlash in response to WotC attempting to revoke a 22 year old licensing agreement that had allowed for the blossoming of the tabletop RPG gaming, which if successful, would have effectively killed Dungeons & Dragons in the marketplace, along with about 80-85% of the total TTRPG industry.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves stars Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez, and is due out March 31, 2023.
