Earth is invaded by a swarm of sentient nanobots car sized morally ambiguous snakes who are friendly but incomprehensible even though they have seen every episode of Firefly and might be overpowered by a crowd of people with pitchforks and torches but a priest tells them about the God and they are taken in by a kindly old lady who mistakes them for lost children.
