You may have seen photos of the library at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, but the real story is what’s inside.
The Research Library at the Lucas Museum holds thousands of books, comics, manuscripts, and archival materials on the very art and artists you’ll find in our galleries—from deep research holdings on illustration, comics, and film to special collections spanning rare books and archives.
Saw something in the Rockwell gallery that stuck with you? Curious what inspired a favorite Frazetta cover? The library is where you go to find out. And best of all, you don’t need a ticket to come in. This part is the best news for you if you have a thirst for knowledge, but when you open your wallet, moths fly out.
Whether you’re a student, an artist, a filmmaker, a scholar, or simply a fan of narrative art, the library is the perfect complement to a gallery visit — a place to slow down and dig deeper into whatever images moved you most.
Stop by after exploring the galleries, or simply drop in for a good read while in the area. There’s more than one way to enjoy stories at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.
If you want to visit the museum proper, it’s $25 a person ($21 for seniors), or it’s free with your annual membership at $140.
