Australian actress Margot Robbie, best known for playing Harley Quinn iand Barbie, can add a new role to her resumé: Mama. She and her husband, film producer Tom Ackerley welcomed a baby boy to the world. At last report, mother and son are doing well. The happy couple have a reputation for keeping their private life private, and so have not yet released the baby’s name or confirmed his birthdate. Based on when the news was released young Mr. Ackerley is probably a Scorpio. Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley were married in December 2016.
Ackerley and Robbie met in 2013, on the set of the WWII film Suite Française (2015). He was an assistant director of the film. She played Celine Joseph.
In addition to Celine Joseph, the mistress of French army officer Gaston Angellier, Robbie also played Jane Porter Clayton, Countess of Greystoke in The Legend of Tarzan (2016), Naomi Lapaglia in The World of Wall Street, and starred as Barbie in Barbie (2023), and as Queen Elizabeth I of England in Mary Queen of Scots (2018). She also, famously, created the live action role of Harley Quinn and portrayed that character in Suicide Squad (2016), Birds of Prey (2020), and The Suicide Squad (2021)
Margot Robbie cofounded the production company LuckyChap Entertainment with future husband Tom Ackerley and friends Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr. Thus far, LuckyChap has produced I, Tonya (2017), the Hulu TV series Dollface (2019), Birds of Prey (2020), Promising Young Woman (2020), the Netflix miniseries Maid (2021), Barbie (2023) and Saltburn (2023). Most of those Robbie starred in.
Motherhood may slow her down a bit, but it’s unlikely anything can stop the Oscar- and BAFTA- nominated actress/producer. Our best wishes and congratulations to the happy couple, now a happy trio. Given the Robbie-Ackerley penchant for privacy, the baby’s name, length, weight, eye color, hair color, and Apgar score have not been released yet. When we know more, we’ll share it with you. Comgratulations again to Margot and Tom.
