Inside Out 2 | Official Trailer

Inside Out 2 is the Pixar sequel to their award-winning 2015 hit Inside Out, with new emotions!

The first film has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 90+, and Disney-Pixar announced the sequel at their annual D23 Expo in 2022, with Amy Poehler presenting.

Many of the original cast are back, including Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, and Lewis Black as Anger. Kelsey Mann was Head of Story on Inside, and promoted to director of the sequel (making it his feature directorial debut), he previously directed the short film Party Central in 2013. Meg LeFauve was announced to write the film’s screenplay, she also penned the first film.

The story continues with Riley, now a newly minted teenager, and the new emotions include Anxiety played by Maya Hawke (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), and Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos). Riley’s brain Headquarters undergoes a sudden demolition to make room for all the new emotions, something Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust weren’t prepared for. The first new emotion they meet is Anxiety, who carries a lot of emotional baggage — literally. And her personality begins to change.

Pixar switched to releasing only original films in 2020, and the most successful of those films is the amazing Soul. A truly unique and beautiful film about the meaning of life and destiny, told as a comedy. Inside Out 2 is a return to making sequels, and is remarkably the 6th franchise created by the Pixar team.

David Raiklen

David Raiklen wrote, directed and scored his first film at age 9. He began studying keyboard and composing at age 5. He attended, then taught at UCLA, USC and CalArts. Among his teachers are John Williams and Mel Powel.
He has worked for Fox, Disney and Sprint. David has received numerous awards for his work, including the 2004 American Music Center Award. Dr. Raiklen has composed music and sound design for theater (Death and the Maiden), dance (Russian Ballet), television (Sing Me a Story), cell phone (Spacey Movie), museums (Museum of Tolerance), concert (Violin Sonata ), and film (Appalachian Trail).
His compositions have been performed at the Hollywood Bowl and the first Disney Hall. David Raiken is also host of a successful radio program, Classical Fan Club.
