The Bad Batch sees its third and final season debut on the Disney+ streaming service on February 21. The first trailer is here, giving us a look at what lies in store for our favorite band of clones. Yes, they’re all clones, even the female Omega, who has been captured by the Empire and at the start of Season 3 is being held in high security confinement. Of course, there is no way the Bad Batch is going to leave their sister behind.

It seems that Tech is actually really dead. He didn’t make it through his last adventure. The story arc seems to be pretty much centered on the rescue of Omega, and various characters we recognize make their appearances. Included in this are Emperor Palpatine, Cad Bane, Fennic Shand and a few others, but the big reveal is Asajj Ventress.

Ventress figured prominently in The Clone Wars as one of Count Dooku’s force sensitive assasins, but she was abandoned by the Sith and left for dead. With loyalty to the Sith off the table, she is free to take a more balanced stance between the light side and the dark side of the Force. The book Dark Principle portrayed her as supposedly having met her demise, but how much the books play into actual Star Wars canon may be demonstrated here with respect to her new participation in The Bad Batch.

Personally speaking, I have found The Bad Batch to be one of the better animated Star Wars series, and I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with the storyline. Characters from previous shows have gone on to play a part in the grand story of Star Wars, and it will be interesting to see what happens to them after this series is done.

The Bad Batch season 3 features Ming-Na Wen, Dee Bradley Baker and Michelle Ang, and makes its debut on February 21 with the first three episodes all on the same day.
