Happy 56th Birthday, Jon Favreau!

Almost everyone knows Jon Favreau is a Big Deal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but you may not know just how big of a Big Deal he is.

Wednesday, October 19, 2022 is his 56th birthday, which makes it the perfect time to celebrate the life and career of this creative gentleman. Favreau is a writer, a director, an actor, and a producer. He is currently in charge of all Disney Star Wars – related projects. Most people know him as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark’s bodyguard/chauffeur, and have no idea how much he does. backstage.

Like most of the people reading this website, Favreau is a gentleman of the geeky persuasion. His career is a geek’s dream come true.

Like Dr. Neil de Grasse Tyson, Favreau graduated from the Bronx High School of Science. In the comic books, Peter Parker attended a similar school. Like Dean Devlin of The Librarians and Leverage. Favreau credits Dungeons and Dragons for developing his storytelling skills 1.

Favreau was a creative consultant on The Orville, and even directed one episode, “Old Wounds,” written by Seth MacFarlane. Favreau was director and executive producer of the western/sci-fi thriller, Cowboys and Aliens (2011). He was host and executive producer of the TV show Dinner for Five. With Chef Roy Choi, he was co-host of The Chef Show.

Involved with Marvel even before the MCU came into existence, Jon K. Favreau played attorney Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Matt Murdock’s friend and partner in Daredevil (2003).

Awards and Honors

“Favreau has been nominated five times for an Emmy Award; four of his Emmy nominations were for The Mandalorian, and one for Dinner for Five. He’s been nominated twice for a Saturn Award, both times as best director, for Jungle Book (2016) and Iron Man (2008). He’s had three Hugo nominations, two for The Mandalorian and one for Iron Man. He was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2019. The Visual Effects Society awarded him a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. “
