HBO Max’s DC Comics series Doom Patrol, has always been on the weird side – but the new third season teaser takes weird on a whole new level. Warner Bros. is pulling out all the stops with this one. Yes, the series is back for a third season, and we even have a release date.
The team consists of Jane (Diane Guerrero), Rita Farr (April Bowlby), Vic Stone (Joivan Wade), Larry Trainor (Matt Bomer and Matthew Zuk), and Cliff Steele (Brendan Fraser and Riley Shanahan), with Timothy Dalton as the Chief.
The first season of the series debuted back in 2019 back on the now declining DC Universe streaming service1. In the first season, the team work to rescue the Chief from the clutches of the supervillain Mr. Nobody (played by Alan Tudyk) . In season two, the Chief’s daughter Dorothy Spinner accidentally summons a powerful, dangerous entity called Candlemaker and the team went toe to toe with him.
The third season follows the final battle with Candlemaker and its peculiar aftermath. A new character arrives, in the form of another classic Doom Patrol character, a time traveler named Madame Rouge (Michelle Gomez).
The season will premiere on HBO Max on September 23rd.

1We believe they were going to call it the Krypton streaming service, according to a trademark they registered for the purpose, until they found out that their series by the same name was not going to take the world by storm as planned.
