Trailer Park: “Muppet’s Haunted Mansion” on Disney+

Disney has turned some of its E ticket rides into movies: the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise starring Johnny Depp, and Haunted Mansion starring Eddie Murphy. The Muppets, in turn, have turned some classics of British literature into movies: Muppets Treasure Island, and the holiday classic Muppets Christmas Carol. Since Disney bought the Muppets in 2004, it was only a matter of time before something like Muppets Haunted Mansion came along.

It’s a special look at one of the most beloved attractions in The Magic Kingdom, the Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square. The original attraction opened with its 999 resident ghosts in 1969, and has been updated nine times since – but always presenting visitors with a happy blend of comical and scary.

In this first Muppets Haunted Mansion clip, Pepe the King Prawn struggles to call down the lightning that Gonzo the Great has so easily mastered.

Does that look like it might be fun to watch? Kermit and company usually deliver a quality product. Will Gonzo dare to spend Halloween inside the Haunted Mansion? Or will he run screaming out the door?

This felt and feathers documentary will debut on Disney+ in the Fall of 2021. Will you join Fozzie Bear in (wokka, wokka) guffaws of laughter or will you squeal in terror at the sight of Uncle Deadly? It’s all in good, tongue in cheek, fuzzy, Muppety fun, and definitely tilted towards kids.

If you’re not sure, here’s a second video to help you make up your mind.

It looks like like a good time to us!

It’s worth noting that the voices in the overdubbed second trailer were mostly done by a single voice actor named Flavio Teimori. It’s pretty impressive that the voices of Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Sam the Eagle, Beaker, the Swedish Chef and Waldorf were all done by one person rather than the actual cast members of the Muppets, but what should count more, quality, or cost? Apparently for the trailer, cost wins out. No cast members are listed on IMDB for this production, so we’re hoping these aren’t the final voices.

All in all, it looks like a fun indulgence for that Halloween time of year. We’ll be watching. How about you?
