1,150 Free Movies Online: Classics, Sci-Fi, Sherlock Holmes, Animation & More

1,150 movies are currently free online at Open Culture’s web site. The films include movies created by some of our greatest actors, actresses, and directors, and there are many rare and unusual titles among them.

The films include the Blade Runner 2049 Prequels, short films by George Lucas and Guillermo del Toro, several Sherlock Holmes features (even one starring John Cleese), a Miyazaki doc, and animation from from South Park creator Trey Parker. Even the very first erotic film is there!

There’s something for everyone here. Among my favs are Things to Come – screenplay by H. G. Wells; The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes – great Rathbone; Ansel Adams, Photographer– Ansel’s secrets plus he plays the score; Key Lime Pie – just watch it.

Here’s their Animation and animated film sections.
