We know the world is absolutely enamored of Star Wars and seems to have a nearly insatiable appetite for it. How much of a fever pitch does The Walt Disney company need to have to make sure Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the biggest hit they’ve ever had?

Apparently quite a big one.

SCIFI.radio's TRAILER PARK

In the past 72 hours, they have had three media drops about the film. While this isn’t unusual for the movie industry, it’s not unremarkable either. We’re still four weeks away from the release of the film, so putting them out this close together is either one of several salvos, or the beginning of a continous stream of new advertising leading up to December 20, 2019.

Here are the three clips. We’ve titled them so us Star Wars fan geeks can sort them out and talk about them, instead of hearing “did you see the lastest video drop on Star Wars?” and having to ask “which one??”

‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ – ‘Fate’ TV Spot

This one was released only two days ago. It’s the destiny of a Jedi to confront fear, and this trailer hits that particular sweet spot. This one is 30 seconds long and is meant for being aired on TV.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Special Look

This one appeared yesterday, and it’s a look at what makes Star Wars so special and why we love it as much as we do. It’s two and a half minutes long, and features some very very famous voices and faces.

New Catch Phrase (Clip)

One of the cool tricks the Star Wars writers have for keeping us socially engaged in what they’re doing is catch phrases, like, “May the Force be with you,” and “I have a bad feeling about this,” and “You came in that? You’re braver than I thought,” and “Somebody get this walking carpet out of my way.”

To this and others, we can now add, “They fly now!” Poe, R2, C3PO, Finn and Rey all seem to be on the same beat up speeder bike trying to get away from Imperial stormtroopers with a new ability.

If this keeps up, we’re going to be even more awash in PR for the final installment of the Skywalker saga than we already are.

Watch this space.
