It’s a simple title for a science fiction short subject, and a common theme: what happens when one uniquely brave individual decides to step outside the boundaries of what is known and go exploring? Anything can happen. In Traveller, Rachel, a test pilot, takes a prototype jump ship into the unknown, for a trip through both time and space. The consequences for both the pilot and the engineering team that created the vessel are profound.
TRAVELER – short film from Simon Brown on Vimeo.
The world Brown creates is clean and stark, yet where there is detail it is complex and thrilling, and each new event opens a world of potential. This is a proof of concept film, in the same manner as Ruairí Robinson’s The Leviathan we showed you last March. As a teaser, it certainly does its job: it leaves us wanting more.
