LEGO Avengers Helicarrier. Ooooh Yeah.

[krvod url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O422YCyzjs]This is the kind of thing you don’t think to ask for because you’d never in a million years believe that they’d actually do it, but LEGO has just announced that the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier from The Avengers will be on store shelves by March. The official product name is 76042 The SHIELD Helicarrier. It’s what they call a micro-scale model, which is a little misleading because when built it comes in just under three feet in length. The new kit will not be the largest LEGO has ever made – that distinction goes to the full sized Star Destroyer, which is over four feet long.

The model features two runways, micro-scale Quinjets, fighter jets and ground support vehicles, several LEGO Marvel Super Heroes mini-figures, plus 12 micro-figures to display on deck and within the highly detailed interior. The five hero mini-figures are Nick Fury, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye and Maria Hill.

This is the first time LEGO has used tiny micro-scale figures (originally designed to be trophies) as characters in a playset.

The kit will be available from LEGO Shop@Home in March of 2015, and will be one of the pricier things you can buy from them at $349.99. You can motorize the kit using LEGO Power Functions, but those parts will be extra. If you’re spending that kind of money for a LEGO playset, though, you might as well spend the extra cash for the rest of the power and light kits.
