Earth suffers a temporary glitch in the space-time continuum, creating sentiant walruses who want to plug us into a power grid and use us as living batteries even though they smell really bad and cannot be destroyed by a bunch of Elvis impersonators but a priest tells them about the God and they become the new rulers of Earth, ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity.
