by Zoe de Lellis, contributing writer Marvel’s Daredevil is trickling out the casting announcements for the show, which is set to premiere in 2015 on Netflix. Today, Marvel Television announced that the show will feature actor Scott Glenn. Acclaimed for his roles in The Silence of the Lambs, The Hunt for Red October, the Jason Bourne movies, and Apocalypse Now, Glenn will play the mysterious sensei Stick, Matt Murdock’s (Daredevil’s) mentor. "Stick is one of the most important figures in Matt Murdock's life and Scott Glenn embodies all the qualities of someone so integral to this hero's journey," said Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television. "There are few actors who could bring such the authenticity, gravitas and charisma to such a key role in Matt's journey to become the super hero we call Daredevil." The character hit the screen once before in the 2005 film Elektra, portrayed by Terence Stamp, although, this character in the film had no apparent connection with Daredevil himself. In the comics Stick encounters characters from other Marvel universe, including Wolverine. This is probably one of the many reasons the film met with such disdain from fans and critics alike. Glenn will be joining Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), and Rosario Dawson. This is Marvel’s first Netflix-exclusive television show and will be produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios. The 13-episode season is set to premiere in May 2015. So far, Marvel hasn't released any teasers of trailers, but they did announce last week that fans at New York Comic Con (NYCC) will be the first to see the cast all together at a panel on Saturday, October 11, 2014. -30-
