Earth ascends to a higher plane of existence, leaving behind a changed world but only for left handed people who are friendly but incomprehensible even though they can all do credible singing impressions of Ethel Merman and cannot be destroyed by a crowd of people with pitchforks and torches , but scientists create a new weapon which does not work and then they kill us all.
