War reduced Japan to zero, and Godzilla plunged it into minus. Two years have passed since then, and the country has faced agonizing struggles to achieve recovery and finally reclaim its daily life.
Just as humanity managed to cling to a hard-won peace, a new threat strikes, crushing hope in an instant.
There is no third time. Everything ends here.

Academy ratio is the height versus width of an old-style television screen and the one used in movie theaters before widescreen took over. Now IMAX theaters attempt to fill the senses by taking the now standard 16:9 ratio screen and expanding it upwards to tower over the audience.
Godzilla Minus Zero is the first IMAX movie filmed for IMAX in Japan. The visual FX supervisor for the film is the same man who served as screenwriter and director, a man named Takashi Yamazaki, and that makes it a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience. The only way to see it the way it was designed to be seen is in an IMAX theater.
From Toho Studios and distributed by GKIDS, it will have its world premiere at the 2026 New York Film Festival on September 26, and will be released in Japan by Toho on November 3. Everybody else gets it on November 6, 2026.
