Tom Kane, the voice of Professor Utonium in Powerpuff Girls, and Yoda in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, has passed away at the age of 64. He had suffered a stroke in 2020 which rendered him unable to speak, and had retired from voice acting. He died Monday at a hospital in Kansas City, surrounded by family, owing to complications from that stroke.

Kane’s performances graced many of your favorite films and television series, and included characters in popular video games such as Call of Duty, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: Squadrons, Minecraft Dungeons, and more. He was the narrator for Star Wars: Bad Batch, provided the voice for Admiral Akbar in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He had racked up over 275 credits, and was one of the hardest working voice actors in the business.

Kane was a devoted husband and father, who, alongside his wife, built a loving family of nine children — three biological and six more welcomed through adoption and fostering.

His final Instagram post showed him surrounded by his Powerpuff girls.
