Nothing chops the Batman legacy down to size like converting him into a handful of plastic parts. Few things make him as friendly and approachable for kids, either. Or grownup kids.

Behold the awe, the mystery, and the easy playability of Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

This new LEGO game brings together historical elements from the Dark Knight’s lengthy career in comic books, television, motion pictures and animation. All the faces you know and love are there.

They’re just, uh – silkscreened on little yellow plastic bits that go under the hair parts.

The trailer features Danny Elfman’s incredible soundtrack music from Tim Burton’s now classic 1989 feature film, Batman, Famous scenes are recreated, but given the expected LEGO comedic twist. Bane hurting his foot on a piece of LEGO is classic.

The game launches in 2026, and this trailer is meant to let people know it’s coming. Of course it’ll be a smash hit when it does finally release for the Nintendo Switch 2. No specific release date has been set, though we can presume that they’ll hold it close to their chest for a while to give the Switch 2 a sales boost (since titles unique to the Switch 2 are probably going to be a major factor in decisions to buy the new handheld hybrid console).

Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a brand-new open world action adventure video game that invites players to embark on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City, inspired by decades of Batman films, television, comic books, and games, and jam-packed with Batman nostalgia, DC lore, and TT Games’ signature brand of fun-filled LEGO humor.
