Marvel shared the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again at the D23 convention. It hasn’t been released to the public, but we’ve seen it and it looks excellent. Big budget superhero action/drama with a stellar cast. The blind lawyer turned crime fighter is back.

Daredevil: Born Again may be Marvel Studios’ most highly anticipated Disney+ TV series in years, given how beloved the Man Without Fear’s Netflix series is, and the guest appearance of DD and Matt Murdock and Kingpin in recent movies and series.

Bringing Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and supporting cast to the MCU is a long term project, following appearances in Hawkeye, Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo, and next March will be the time for these characters to shine together again. Plus several new characters from the original comics.

We’ll go light on the spoilers and just mention some of the cool characters. The trailer opens with Matt Murdock visiting Hector Ayala/White Tiger in prison. White Tiger is a hero with many incarnations, passed down through generations.

Jon Bernthal’s return as The Punisher is very exciting, he was non-stop spellbinding in both Daredevil and his own series. Bernthal said “fans will be enormously happy” with the show.

Also featured in the trailer is a new villain called Muse, a deranged, super-powered serial killer with a bloody, creative flair. Actor name not released. The character was created in 2016’s Daredevil comics, showing influences from recent books.

When it was first announced, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page weren’t going to appear in Daredevil: Born Again. But a reimagining in 2023, to bring the Marvel version closer to the Netflix series, means Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll will reprise their roles.

Vincent D’Onofrio created possibly the most iconic and multilayered performance of any villain in the MCU. In the new series, his character, Wilson Fisk AKA The Kingpin, is running for Mayor of New York.

DD himself will have multiple looks in the new series. This expansive vision of the character, combined with multiple new characters, the order for a season of 18 episodes (almost unheard of in streaming series), and the announcement they are already filming season 2(!), tell us Disney believes they have a huge hit on their schedule. Daredevil: Born Again is coming to Netflix in March 2025.

This older trailer trailer is similar in tone and style to the current one.

Marvel Netflix shows you might want to see on Disney + while they’re still there:

  • Jessica Jones season 1 (November 2015) * Outstanding
  • Daredevil season 2 (March 2016) * Outstanding
  • Luke Cage season 1 (September 2016)
