Samantha Davis, Wife of Warwick Davis, Dies at 53

British actress Samantha Davis, the wife of Harry Potter and Star Wars star Warwick Davis, has died at the age of 53.

Mrs. Davis’ first theatrical role was in Willow (1988), where she met her husband. She was a Nelwyn villager; he played the title role as the would-be wizard, Willow Ufgood. She was in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, where she played one of the Gringotts goblins, and in Leprechain 2 (1994), appearing with her husband Warwick Davis in each. She performed on various television shows, including Honky Sausages and Through the Dragon’s Eye under her maiden name, Samantha Burroughs. Her other roles were either uncredited cameos, or under her married name, Samantha Davis. Her final role was in the upcoming Shortfellas, in which she appears with her husband one last time.

Her father, Peter Burroughs, and her husband, Warwick were partners in Willow Management, a talent agency that specialized in finding roles with dignity and respect for Little People actors. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were both Little People. Mrs. Davis was 4’1″, or 1.2 m. Her husband is 3’6″, or 1.07 m.

Warwick Davis told the BBC in a statement:

“Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs. She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humor and always laughed at my bad jokes.”

Annabelle and Harrison added,

“Mum is our best friend and we’re honored to have received a love like hers.”

Mr. and Mrs. Davis were married thirty-six years. They had three children, Lloyd, who died in infancy, and Harrison, and Annabelle.
