More formally known as the Annual Anthropomorphic Literature and Arts Award, the Ursa Major Awards are presented annually for excellence in the furry arts. It is intended as Anthropomorphic (a.k.a. Furry) Fandom’s equivalent of the Hugo Award ® presented by the World Science Fiction Society, mystery fandom’s Anthony Award, horror fandom’s Bram Stoker Award, and so forth. Anyone may nominate and vote for candidates for the Awards. These Awards are decided by the fans, not by a committee.
The recipients of the 2023 Ursa Major Awards, which are bestowed annually to recognize excellence in the furry arts, were revealed on May 25 through a YouTube video. (Please note: While the video refers to them as the 2023 awards, the Ursa Major Awards website refers to them as the 2022 awards. Interpret as you wish.)

Written works consisting of 40,000 words or more. Serialized novels are only eligible in the year the final chapter is published.
Stories under 40,000 words, poetry, and other concise written works.
Collections of stories, comic compilations, graphic novels, non-fiction works, and serialized online stories.
Includes comic books and serialized online stories.
Strips in the style of newspaper comics, including those with ongoing storylines.
Edited compilations of creative and/or informational works by various individuals, whether professionals or amateurs, published in print or online in written, pictorial, or audio-visual formats.
Artwork created for books, magazines, convention program books, cover art, T-shirts, or coffee-table portfolios.
Computer or console games, role-playing games, board games.
Online collections of art, stories, and other creative and/or informational works. This category includes galleries, story archives, directories, blogs, and personal sites.
