Five Nights at Freddy’s | Official Teaser

Five Nights at Freddy’sas a wildly popular computer game. Now it’s going to be a movie, and it looks like it’s going to be a ripping good time.

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria is the setting for this spookfest. Just as Pixar’s Toy Story took the common childhood belief that toys get up and play without their children when no one is looking, so this movie takes the notion that audio-animatronic figures can and do exceed their programming. Based on the video game series of the same name, the premise is that the protagonist is a security guard at a bear-themed children’s pizzeria. Alone in the dark, the audio-animatronics should be turned off and harmless, but they’re neither. In the game, the novice guard must survive five nights at Freddy’s, a tougher task than it sounds.

Josh Hutcherson, Peeta Mellark in the Hunger Games franchise and Walter in Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005) plays the poor threatened security guard. Matthew Lilliard, best known as the voice of Shaggy in Scooby-Doo co-stars as William Afton.

Is it just a nervous security guard’s imagination? Did those red robotic eyes move? Or is something uncanny happening? Is it beyond unnatural? Is it Evil? Do you have the nerve to watch and find out? Five Nights at Freddy’s will be released October 27, 2023. We don’t know the rating yet, but based on the game it is likely to be at least PG-13, and possibly R for graphic gore.

The movie itself will be out October 27, 2023, just in time for Halloween.
