The trailer is basically a D&D Campaign put to film, and includes encounters with a number of classic D&D monsters.

Produced by eOne, a production company owned by Hasbro, this film looks like one big advertisement for what Wizards of the Coast hopes will be a monopolized franchise built around their most important property, Dungeons & Dragons. Wizards of the Coast, founded in 1990, bought Dungeons & Dragons in 1990, and then were purchased by Hasbro in 1999.

Now Hasbro, through WotC, is trying to coerce the third party publishers that sustained the game through its darkest hours into signing a publishing agreement that would give WotC a monopoly for its virtual tabletop gaming service D&D Beyond, via a new Open Gaming License based on dubious legal premises.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Regé-Jean Page, and makes its big screen debut on March 31, 2023.
