He’s garnered twenty-six nominations for various awards, including the Black Reel Awards, the NAACP Image Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and our own Saturn Awards. It’s clear Anthony Mackie has won the respect of his peers. He co-starred in The Hurt Locker with fellow Avenger Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye in the MCU).

Mackie won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actor; Renner was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor. Both shared in the win for the Alliance of Women Film Journalists Award for Best Ensemble Cast. He shared the MTV Award for Best Duo with his co-star Sebastian Stan. Forty-four may be old for a baseball player, but it’s barely getting started for an actor.

Happy Birthday, Anthony Mackie. We know it’s been a long hard road getting to where you are now. We wish you a long road ahead, and many, many more birthdays to come.
