At Long Last: The ‘Black Adam’ Trailer

From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action adventure Black Adam. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of DC Comic’s infamous antihero comes to the big screen.

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Black Adam’s key trait, apart from having all the powers of Shazam! (we know it’s weird not to call him Captain Marvel, there’s a long complicated legal story defining why that is), is a nearly complete lack of empathy for human life. Coupled with nearly limitless power, that makes him dangerous even to the good guys.

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan in a role we can’t wait to see him in: the amazing and mystical Dr. Fate.

Collet-Serra directed from a screenplay by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, screen story by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, based on characters from DC. Black Adam was created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck.

Director Jaume Collet-Serra has worked with Dwayne Johnson before. He directed Johnson in Disney’s Jungle Cruise.

We’ve been waiting excitedly for Black Adam‘s release, and it’s finally happening.

Black Adam smashes into theaters and IMAX internationally beginning 19 October 2022 and in North America on October 21, 2022. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures. If you can possibly see it in IMAX, you should. It’s designed to be a spectacle film, so the bigger the better.
