The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. Set as a prequel to the Star Wars motion picture Rogue One, it follows the adventures of Cassian Andor during the formative years of the rebellion.

It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero. Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller.

The whole thing feels like a trailer for a motion picture, not a series. It has that air of high adventure that we look for in Star Wars storytelling, and reminds us that the universe of Star Wars is more than just Jedi and the Skywalker saga itself.

The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.

Andor makes its debut on the Disney+ streaming service sometime in 2022. No specific date is yet known, but if we had to bet, we’d bet it will happen sometime during or after September.
