RIP Sayaka Kanda, Japanese Voice Actress

Japanese actress and singer Sayaka Kanda has died at the young age of 35, and both suicide and foul play are being considered as a possibility. She died December 18, 2021 in Sapporo, Japan. From reports, she died by jumping out a window. The police are still investigating her death.

The third-generation actress was the voice of Anna in the Japanese language version of Disney’s Frozen, and reprised that role in the Japanese version of Ralph Breaks the Internet.

She was a very busy voice actor beyond her work for Disney, having done voice work in Star Blazers 2202, Idoly Pride, Convenience Store Boyfriends, Kamen Rider Den-O: Final Countdown, Dragon Head and Sword Art Online.

She was Ezomichi in Kanojo Real Girl. In the video game Killing Harmony, she was Kaede Akamatsu.

Sayaka Kanda was born October 1, 1986 in Tokyo, Japan.

Her mother was singer Seiko Matsuda. Her father was actor Masaki Kanda (Haruhiko kurosawa in Red Dead Wagon 29: The Reunion). Her grandmother Teruko Asahi (1924–2001) was also an actress.

She was married briefly to actor Mitsu Murata (Kamen Rider Kiva). They married in 2017 and divorced in 2019.

Sayaka Kanda was a light too soon extinguished. Her death comes as a shock to her family and the many fans of her films, We offer our condolences, to whatever humble effect they may have.
