Last night at the closing ceremonies for LOSCON 47, SCIFI.radio‘s executive producer Susan Fox and its station manager Gene Turnbow were named Fan Gusts of Honor for LOSCON 48, to take place Thanksgiving Weekend at the Los Angeles Airport Marriot Hotel.
LOSCON is the annual convention of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society, the oldest continuously operating science fiction fan club in the world.
LASFS began in 1934, as a charter group of Hugo Gernsback’s Science Fiction League. Gernsback, editor of the prominent science fiction magazine Wonder Stories, created the League so that magazine fans from across the country could correspond with each other.
It’s an honor we were not expecting, and we’re very grateful for the opportunity.
