Filming to Begin on ‘The Mandalorian’ 3rd Season

Good news for Star Wars fans: actor/director Carl Weathers confirmed that the third season of Disney+’s popular streaming show, The Mandalorian, will begin filming in September. Weathers, who plays Greef Karga, is excited to be directing one of the episodes.

“So now, we’re gonna start a new season of The Mandalorian in the next month. I get to be in front of the camera again and I get to direct again. So, I hope you stay on the lookout for it, watch it, support it. Please, because I’m not just proud of my work, I’m really proud of the show and to be part of it, you know.”

Before becoming an actor, Weathers played football first for the San Diego State University Aztecs and then for the Oakland Raiders. He is best known for playing Apollo Creed in the Rocky franchise. He voiced Combat Carl in Disney’s Toy Story franchise. Weathers played President Weathers in Sheriff Tom vs, the Zombies. He voiced Duke Firestorm in Explosion Jones. Weathers starred in Fortune Dane. He played Dillon in the Arnold Schwarzenegger blockbuster Predator. Predator also featured Kevin Peter Hall (Misfits of Science, Harry and the Hendersons) and Richard Chaves (War of the Worlds)

Carl Weathers has already directed one episode of The Mandalorian, chapter 12 “The Siege.” He’s directed eight episodes of Silk Stalkings and five episodes of Sheena.

The Mandalorian Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Disney + in 2022.
