Rapper Lil Uzi Vert Gets Abducted By a UFO in Trailer for New Album

The fans choose this as cover art for his new album

Over a year after the first time he teased its title, platinum rapper Lil Uzi Vert has released a cinematic trailer for his upcoming album Eternal Atake. The video, directed by Gibson Hazard, casts Uzi as an office worker whose day is disrupted by the appearance of mysterious coordinates leading to a UFO. (His 2017 song 20 Min also featured an animated “Vert” flying in a UFO.)

Eternal Atake — which has yet to receive a release date — will be Lil Uzi Vert’s follow-up to 2017’s Luv Is Rage 2. Since that album, he’s released singles including a cover of Backstreet Boys’ I Want It That Way, Futsal Shuffle 2020, New Patek, That’s a Rack, Sanguine Paradise, and Free Uzi The latter track is one the rapper self-released in March 2019; Atlantic Records has called the song “a leak” and “not official.” Rumors are the album release will be in March.

He tweeted: “Atake means 2 overtake” in a cryptic description of what the title means. The cover art also references the deadly Heaven’s Gate UFO cult. Lyrics include “That girl, she got with my clone “. Many of his videos have surreal imagery but this may be the most sci-fi.

The trailer (the label is calling it a short film) is scored with cyberpunk electronica before teasing an upbeat song at the end. In this he joins the Black Eyed Peas, David Bowie, and Lady Gaga with a major pop music video using scifi music and images.
