With Hollywood churning out one horror remake, reboot and sequel after another, fresh, original stories have become a rarity for genre fans … with a few exceptions, of course. However, A24 Films, the distribution company responsible for critically acclaimed films such as Hereditary (Toni Collette, 2018), The Lobster (Colin Farrell, 2015) and Ex Machina (Alicia Vikander, 2015) has unveiled the trailer to its latest upcoming release: a British horror comedy entitled In Fabric. Though the comedy element doesn’t seem to be conveyed, this spooky tale looks incredibly strange in a wonderfully creepy way!

SCIFI.radio's TRAILER PARK

During profitable sales of the busy winter months, a fabric department store passes along a cursed dress that has destroyed the lives of previous owners. With mysterious origins, the haunted dress wreaks havoc with unexpected, devastating consequences.

Written and directed by multi award winning filmmaker Peter Strickland (Katalin Varga, The Duke of Burgundy), In Fabric features an impressive cast including Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones series), Sidse Babett Knudsen (Westworld series) with Oscar nominated actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste leading the film. As if talent and distribution were not enough to indicate a smash hit, this unique ghost story made its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last September where it was warmly received by audiences.

Fatma Mohamed in In Fabric

Earning 7 wins and 13 nominations during its festival run, holding a current rating of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and garnishing a 7 out of 10 star rating on IMDb, all signs suggest that In Fabric will soon be one of the most talked about horror films of the year. Moviegoers in the UK will see a release on June 28th of this year while those of us residing in the United States will hopefully be treated with a release soon after.
