TV themes are fertile ground for geeky music covers, but we’ve never seen a cover of the theme to Knight Rider before. Part of why is that this theme is actually quite complex from a musical standpoint, so it’s a bit challenging for anyone who isn’t a master musician.
Fortunately, this time, we have apparently found one in Banjo Guy Ollie. Pause the SCIFI.radio stream while you watch.
Banjo Guy Ollie not only plays banjo for this cover, but also bass guitar, mandolin, electric mandolin, accordian and percussion – whatever it takes to get the precise sound he’s looking for.
Does he nail the sound? Yes. Yes, he does.
We have this on our playlist as well, so listen for it throughout the broadcast day.
Enjoy.
