Video of the Day: “Howard’s Drive-In Theater”

In this one, a little alien named Orbit desperately wants to see his cinema hero at the drive-in, and tries everything to sneak in. Sometimes how you feel about something you want can make all the difference.

The film was helmed by Samantha Alarcon and Jennifer Said during their time at Dawson College, and was featured on CGMeetup.

There’s a lot to love about this beautiful little film. The art direction, acting, music, lighting, editing and writing are all spot on.  I’ll go further and say that an animator is an actor, and knowing how to express that emotional palette without a single spoken word in your story is a sign of true artistry.
