The critically acclaimed Logan, as reviewed here on SCIFI.radio, will be re-released in American theaters on May 16. This time, director James Mangold has revealed the already gritty Wolverine movie will be in black and white.
Logan is set in a near-apocalyptic future, where terrible events have caused nearly every mutant to go extinct. Logan, formerly the superhero Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) of the X-Men, is in hiding from the government. He also is the caretaker of the ailing pyschic Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), formerly the mentor of the X-Men.
Logan was also the final on-screen performance of the beloved Jackman as Wolverine/Logan and Stewart as Xavier. They both first appeared as their characters in X-Men that came out in 2000. Many consider that film to be a defining moment for the superhero movie boom, that has dominated movie theaters for nearly two decades. As well, a large amount of fans of both the comics and the movies, feel that Jackman and Stewart have been cornerstones of that boom.
Logan also stars the young and talented Dafne Keen as X-23 / Laura, Boyd Holbrook as Donald Pierce and Stephan Merchant as Caliban.
