1st Look: “War for the Planet of the Apes” Trailer #1

This summer’s crop of movies are going to absolutely rock. This time we’re showing you the new trailer for the latest Apes movie in the rebooted franchise, War for the Planet of the Apes. If this doesn’t get your adrenaline up and your blood pumping, check your pulse. You’re probably dead.

Following the events of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the impending war comes to its inevitable fruition, pitting humans against apes. Frankly, the humans are the jerks here, since the planet has been reduced to a pretty low level of civilization for everybody anyway. There’s plenty of room on Earth for both humans and the newly elevated ape species, but all the humans can think of is territorial survivalism.

Caesar and the apes are embroiled have to face off in a war against an army of humans. As the apes suffer heavy losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts as he resolves to avenge his kind. The war pits Caesar against the humans’ leader, a ruthless Colonel, in an encounter that will determine the fate of their species and Earth’s future.

War for the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves and written by Mark Bomback and Reeves, and is the third installment in the Planet of the Apes reboot series. The film stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval and Terry Notary. It releases on July 14, 2017.
