Video of the Day: ‘TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story’ ‘Star Wars’ Fan Film

UnBoxed Films presents TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story, the gritty tale of a loyal Imperial Stormtrooper who is forced to confront his past in the heat of an epic battle. Directed by Samtubia & Samgoma Edwards, it is imagined from a perspective seldom explored within the Star Wars universe.

It won the 2016 Filmmaker Select Award at Star Wars Celebration Europe, and was chosen by a panel of judges that included Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘s director Gareth Edwards, executive producer John Knoll of Industrial Light & Magic, and co-producer John Swartz.

Here are some fun facts about TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story:

All of the Stormtrooper costumes were made using EVA foam, athletic mats, and pepakura patterns.
The stormtrooper costumes were purposely made to be bulkier in order to give the stormtroopers a more intimidating appearance.
The short film took approximately 7 months to complete.
There are two versions of the film. The one for the competition was a cut-down version to conform to the Star Wars fan film competition rules on length.
