Star Trek Comes to Mall of America

BLOOMINGTON, MN – Officials of the Mall of America confirmed Monday that a traveling Star Trek exhibit is headed to the mega-mall, slated to be installed in the mall’s new third-floor exhibition area.  The Star Trek exhibit is being brought to MOA by EMS Entertainment, which has taken over the third floor of the former Bloomingdale’s department store for a series of traveling exhibitions. The facility can house three exhibits simultaneously, and is already showing Barbie: The Dreamhouse Experience as well as the new exhibit CSI: The Experience, based on the TV crime series. The CSI exhibit opens Thursday; tickets are $16.99 for ages 12 and up, $9.99 for younger kids.

Star Trek: The Exhibition features props, costumes, scripts and sets from the science-fiction television series. Dates and ticket prices have not yet been announced, but when they are, you can find them here.  Unfortunately at the moment, that link gives you a 404 error.  We can assume they’ll be fixing this shortly.

While details are still being worked out, MOA vice president Maureen Bausch said Monday on CNBC that the upcoming Star Trek exhibit will give the Bloomington mall an even stronger lineup of entertainment options.  Separately, more entertainment venues are coming to the mega-mall, including a Hard Rock Cafe, which is returning to Minnesota after closing its downtown Minneapolis location three years ago.

Mall of America® is located in Bloomington, Minnesota – only 15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. As one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world, Mall of America features – 520 stores, 50 restaurants and attractions galore, including Nickelodeon Universe®, and the nation’s largest indoor theme park.
