Earth enters a parallel dimension where everything is backwards except Mxyzptlk who are friendly but incomprehensible even though they are only slightly radioactive who derive their sustainance by a nuclear bomb but one cunning young man somehow convinces them that people are okay and they are taken in by a kindly old lady who mistakes them for lost children.
