We’ve been the world’s foremost sci-fi radio station for most of our existence. Founded in 2009, we’ve been broadcasting the best in sci-fi music, adventure serials and talk shows to fans around the world ever since.

It’s time to come into our own. We have always been your sci-fi radio station, the one everyone turns to for the good stuff – so we’re taking a new name, the one we were always meant to have:

SCIFI.radio.

We’re still going to be your first go-to for reliable geek news and information as well. With more than six thousand articles on our web site, everything will move with us when the name change becomes permanent.  There will even be new player apps for iPhone and Android!

What Changes, What Stays

That means that all the SCIFI.radio logo-ware in our online store is going away in the near future. If you’re gonna get one of these classic shirts, the clock is ticking.

New SCIFI.radio player apps are on their way. The SCIFI.radio apps, for Android and Apple devices, will continue to work during the transition, but eventually those will stop functioning. Fortunately, the new SCIFI.radio player apps will be free.

If you listen via Winamp, iTunes, or one of the dozens of listing services around the internet, those links will continue to work indefinitely, but there will be new ones cropping up all over the place. We’ll keep you posted on that stuff.

All your favorite shows will still be here too, from your favorite DJ’s and talk shows to your favorite adventure serials. Everything about the station will stay the same – it’s only the name that’s changing.

We’re also going to be adding more live DJ’s, and expanding our social media and doing more with visual content to go along with the great genuine radio experience we bring to you every day.

Fortunately, we don’t have to get everybody to move over to a new Patreon campaign – we can rename the original one.

SCIFI.radio is almost entirely listener supported. While we do have sponsorships, the vast majority of the funds we need every month come from our Patreon campaign – which basically means people just like you who donate a few bucks a month to keep us on the air. It’s been working okay – we’re still here after twelve years in operation – but we have so much more to show you.
