Earth travels through a wormhole to the edge of the universe and beyond only to find actual worms who want to plug us into a power grid and use us as living batteries who tend to stutter under pressure when confronted by a bunch of Elvis impersonators , but scientists create a new weapon which does not work so they eat us all.
