The final episode of Mystery Skulls, the years-long animated saga, is finally here – and it was worth the wait.

The animation is by MysteryBen, and he’s been doing these for almost twelve years.

The final installment gives us the payoff we’ve been waiting for. Vivi is finally reunited with Lewis, who turns out to have been the ghost they had partnered with after the presumptive death of Lewis’ mortal form. And Mystery is recovered from the supernatural shell of the demon that had been hunting them all. All the characters pulse compulsively with the beat. They’re all united by the common thread of their music. Interestingly, the demons they fight do not share this connection, and in the end, it’s why they are vanquished.

This last episode serves as the official conclusion to the 12-year indie animated web series with “Ghost” in 2014, followed by “Freaking Out”, “Hellbent” and “The Future”. You can watch the rest of the saga on MysteryBen’s YouTube page.

The music is glorious as well, some of the most listenable stuff we’ve heard in a long while.

Watch, and enjoy.
