BBC Children’s and Education gives us a first look at Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew, a new animated preschool series introducing younger audiences to the Doctor Who universe for the first time.

The series follows the Doctor as a young Time Lord, and his traveling companions Hannah, Beastie and Toast-IE as they head off to adventures throughout time and space. They travel aboard the TARDIS to encounter strange creatures, amazing new worlds, and classic Doctor Who foes, including the Daleks. The series celebrates courage, kindness and curiosity, encouraging young viewers to explore new ideas, solve problems and embrace the unexpected.

Of course, packing the TARDIS with a bunch of kids and giving them full access to the entire universal timeline of all that ever was and all that ever will be is fine. Because what could possibly go wrong?

“The TARDIS is ready for its youngest crew yet. Packed with imagination, humor and adventure, Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew will inspire children to be curious, courageous and kind as they explore incredible worlds across time and space,” said Kate Morton, Senior Head of Commissioning for CBeebies. “It’s everything families love about Doctor Who, wonder, excitement and endless possibility, reimagined for CBeebies’ youngest explorers.”

Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew is currently in production at Blue Zoo Animation Studio, with Dominic Minns (Mojo Swoptops, Supertato) serving as series director.

BBC Studios handles global sales for Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew as well as licensing, consumer products, digital and immersive experiences on behalf of the BBC.

The show is set to debut on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer in the U.K. in late 2027/early 2028.
