At midnight, we ride.

The story of Cinderella has been pretty onesided this entire time. Now the animated feature Steps from Netflix brings us the other side of the story, from the “wicked stepsisters” point of view.

Blamed for magical mischief at the Royal Ball, stepsister Lilith turns her sister into a frog. She must work with Cinderella and a troll to save the kingdom and prove villains deserve happy endings too.

Steps stars Ali Wong as Lilith, Nikki Glaser as Priscilla, Amanda Seyfried, Daniel Radcliffe as The Prince, Peter Dinklage as Roderick, Stephanie Hsu as Margot, and Bette Midler as the Fairy Godmother.

John Ripa and Alyce Tzue direct from a screenplay by Jen Chuck, Felicia Ho and Riki Lindhome, the latter of which also serves as executive producer, alongside Kate Micucci and Sean McAlear. Amy Poehler, Kim Lessing and Jane Hartwell produce.

The soundtrack is by Kris Bowers, with a special track “Someone to Hold” by the global pop star and Blackpink member Jennie.

Watch STEPS, only on Netflix, November 20.
