Peter-Henry Schroeder, Actor, Producer, Drama Teacher, Singer

Peter-Henry Schroeder, who played roles as diverse as a producer in the Oscar-winning Argo (2012 )and a Klingon in Star Trek: Enterprise, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on June 7 at Lake City VA Medical Center in Florida. He was 90 years old.

Peter-Henry Schroer was born January 2, 1935 in Syracuse, New York. He passed away on June 7, 2025 in Lake City, Florida.

Schroeder was drafted into the U.S. Army to active duty in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955, where he was assigned to a unit that was involved with the USO. After his return from service, he studied with Paula Strasberg.

Like many entertainers, he was a singer as well as an actor. In1960, Peter-Henty Schoeder released “Where’s the Girl for Me?” under the name Pete Shrayder.

Four years later, in 1964, Schroeder released “Memories of Marilyn.” He had seen Marilyn Monroe in a USO show in Korea, years earlier.

Schroeder’s first credited role was as a senator in The Seduction of Joe Tynan (1989). His final role was as Santo Trafficante in the political thriller Sammy Gate (2020). He was a director and producer as well, applying these talents to the 2012 film Argo, about a CIA operative acting under the cover of a Hollywood producer scouting a location for a science fiction film, who launched a dangerous operation to rescue six Americans in Tehran during the U.S. hostage crisis in Iran in 1979.

In addition to playing a Klingon chancellor in the Star Trek: Enterprise two-parter, “Broken Bow,” Schroeder appeared in Journey to the Center of the Earth (1988), which had very little relationship to the Jules Verne novel.

Schroeder formed his own production company, PHS Productions, to pursue his own projects. He was a guest teacher at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and established the Actor/Artist Group Workshop in 1979.

In his last days at a VA Medical Center in Florida, Schroeder frequently asked, “When are you going to get me out of here, I’ve got to get back to LA [to work].”

He will return to L.A. with ceremony with Military Honors to rest in peace at the VA National Cemetery there. The ceremony will be held at a future date to be announced.

He is survived by his daughter Valerie Lynn Schroeder, his son Peter Henry Schroeder II with daughter-in-law Felicia Cristiani Bass, his grandson Peter Henry Schroeder III and his grandson Jarrid Michael Schroeder. Our comfort and condolences to them.

In lieu of flowers, condolences may be shared in his memory through the Human Animal Life Foundation.
