Join hosts Gene Turnbow and Susan Fox on October 19, 2023 at 4 pm Pacific Time when we welcome series regular Madeleine Holly-Rosing, creator of the popular gaslamp fantasy graphic novel series Boston Metaphysical Society, back to our flagship science fiction and fantasy talk show, The Event Horizon. Yes, she’s got another Kickstarter, this time for the Special Hardback Edition of Volume 2 of Boston Metaphysical.

This time around we talk not only about her supernatural gaslamp adventure web comic, but the landscape for independent writers and other creators and how we cope in a new world of throttled social media. She’s something of an expert on the subject, and if you’re thinking of doing your own Kickstarter, this is one episode you won’t want to miss.

ABOUT MADELEINE HOLLY-ROSING

With an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA, Ms. Holly-Rosing brought her background of TV and feature film writing to the world of comics along with a love of history and science fiction. The comic began online six years ago and went to print with a special 24 page edition a year later. The original series received an Honorable Mention at the 2013 Geekie Awards and was nominated for Best Comic/Graphic Novel in 2014. It has also been consistently nominated for best webcomic by the Steampunk Chronicles Readers’ Choice Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015.  The complete series is now available in trade paperback from Source Point Press along with the previous standalone stories, The Scourge of the Mechanical Men and The Spirit of Rebellion.
