Can You Feel The Sunshine? is the latest from The 8-Bit Big Band. They recreate music from video games, but makes them bigger by putting the full force of a big band behind them. This is filk music at its finest, and you’re going to love it.

Joel Waggoner is featured in this up-tempo Swing/Broadway opening number inspired arrangement of “Can You Feel the Sunshine?” from Sonic R. for the Sega Saturn (1997). Originally a more electronic music/house inspired track, the lyrics and chord changes feel right at home in a Judy Garland/Frank Sinatra inspired setting as the opening for some kind of mid-century variety show.

“The 8-Bit Big Band” is a 30-65 member Jazz/pops orchestra that formed to celebrate and realize some of the best themes from video game music from all consoles and eras arranged in a large ensemble Jazz/Pop/Rock setting! Blending together timeless musical themes from Nintendo, Sega, Sony, and more then re-arranging them in genres and styles of all musical inspirations, The 8-Bit Big Band has members from all around the world, but most reside primarily in New York City, and are some of the most highly sought after musicians and performers.

Naturally, this song and many others by The 8-Bit Band can be heard here on SCIFI.radio. It’s Sci-fi for your Wi-Fi!
